Scattered data is not usable data
One of the main reasons for this difficulty lies in the way data is distributed. Each system fulfills its own function: CRM tracks customers and opportunities, ERP handles billing, and other platforms support other processes or projects—and individually, they do their job.
The problem arises when it is necessary to cross-reference information between these systems. That is when you realize that the data exists, but it is not organized as a whole. To understand a customer’s complete journey, for example, you need to consult multiple sources, export data, and often process it manually.
This process is not only time-consuming but also introduces uncertainty. Each data export may occur at a different time, each system may be updated differently, and consolidation depends on who performs it.
In these cases, the data is scattered, and scattered data is rarely used consistently.
